JOB DESCRIPTION: DRIVERS
PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF THE
SICK AND INJURED VIA COMPANY AMBULANCE
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
-Current valid Virginia drivers license (class endorsement)
-Emergency Vehicle Operations Course or Defensive Drivers Course
-Physical exam pre-employment within 1 year
-Must possess physical agility necessary to lift and move patients safely
-Must be neat and clean at all times
-Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
-Must past company driving test
-Must have temperament to deal professionally with disabled, disadvantaged, sick
and injured persons
– Must be flexible to scheduling needs of the company
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
-Patient transport
-Daily vehicle inspection and equipment/supply checklist
-Cleaning and basic maintenance of vehicles (inside and outside)-Safely lifting and moving patients onto and off of the stretcher and in and out of the
ambulance
-Familiarization of geographical area and use of maps
-Utilization of radio communication equipment
-Knowledge of and adherence to PEMS BLS Protocols
-Standby and on-call
-Adherence to standard operating procedures
